Summary:
     In "The UFO Mystery Grows," both the authors discuss UFOs and all different paranormal phenomena that have occurred. In the chapter regarding crop circles, Steiger talks about the two men who had started making crop circles in England, which left many baffled. Doug Bower and Dave Chorley came forward in 1991 and claimed they had been behind the many crop circles shown in England's fields. Many people had been satisfied when they came along, but questions of extraterrestrials and natural phenomena. Steiger also mentions how there is a certain precision in crop circles and how hoaxers cannot create crop circles with the same accuracy. Different theories for how crop circles may have been formed came into a play creating this new image for crop circles.

Three Quotes.
"Four of the principal theories regarding the origins of crop circles are the following:

1. extraterrestrial entities offering clues to their identity and intentions toward earth-lings;
2. natural phenomena, ranging from insects to lightning, from plasma vortices (a kind of ball lightning) to electromagnetic anomalies;
3. hoaxsters;
4. an ancient nonhuman intelligence indigenous to Earth that is utilizing archetypal designs in order to warn contemporary humankind to be more responsible to and more respectful of the planet."( Steiger 296)

"While admitting that there have been hoaxes, cerealogists pointed out that pranksters have been unable to create crop circles with the same precision and undisturbed nature as those circles thought to be of alien or unknown origin."(Steiger 296)

"Researchers have discovered accounts of the discovery of so-called fairy circles in fields and meadows dating back to medieval times throughout the British Isles, Germany, Scandinavia, and France."(Steiger 295)

Value.
        This article will help me explore the different theories regarding crop circles which is the basis of my research. It allows me to understand the history to crop circles and the different views associated with them. The discussion of how many still believe that may be a paranormal mystery to crop circles helps support my aspect of extraterrestrials' hidden messages.
